A Family’s Story On the Importance of Life Insurance

As we celebrate Life Insurance Awareness Month this month and continue our efforts to help 100,000 Families in 100 Days, we continue execute efforts to stress the importance of having life insurance. We continue by helping to educate families on the benefits of having insurance and bring peace of mind.

Here is a story shared with us by a family to WFG associate, Art Villanueva, from the WFG Santa Fe Springs office:

My wife, two daughters, and I almost lost our lives recently. My car popped a tire and rolled over to the opposite side of the highway into oncoming traffic. Thank goodness no one hit us, but we were air lifted to nearby hospitals to make sure there were no other injuries. We are all at home and doing well. The girls are on crutches and they both had a pretty bad beating. Now that they're safe, I’m wondering what would have happened if we weren’t covered with life insurance.

I'm sharing my view because some people think it wouldn't happen to them because I was one of those people. My girls take their seatbelts off often to fall asleep while in the car. One of them mentioned before she took hers off that morning, she had a gut feeling not to and decided to leave it on. We were all wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash, which ultimately saved our lives.

I will never look at having life insurance the same again and I am very grateful you shared the importance of having coverage.

On Sunday, September 16, 2012, the World Financial Group-sponsored curling team, Team Jennifer Jones, won its first curling title of the season, winning 6-2 over Calgary’s Crystal Webster at The Shoot-Out at the Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton, Alberta.

The team was led by two-time Canadian junior champ (2008-2009) Kaitlyn Lowes, who took over skipping tasks for Jennifer Jones who’s out for the first half of the season recovering from knee surgery and awaiting the arrival of her new baby in December. When asked about not having Jennifer there and their win Lawes states, “She has been super supportive. We’ve phoned her every day. She’s so excited for us and very happy we were in the playoffs and into the final game. We felt comfortable out here. We worked well together and read the ice well.”

The team also commented on the joy of beginning the season with a win, missing Jennifer, and having World Financial Group as their sponsor. "It's always nice to start the season with a win. It gives you confidence right from the start and it's something we can build on and take to the next event. It was certainly different being out there without Jennifer, but our super spare Kirsten (Wall) came in with no problem, played well and helped us win. We are very proud to wear the World Financial Group colors this season and are looking forward to the relationship with employees and clients."

Company Helps Thousands of Families Move Toward a More Sound Financial Future

JOHNS CREEK, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--World Financial Group is saluting all of its independent associates who participated in the Helping 100,000 Families in 100 Dayscampaign. The campaign, launched on July 1 and ending on Oct. 8, 2012, was an effort to reach out to the thousands of families who need assistance in developing a strategy to ensure they are more financially secure both today and tomorrow.

“Helping people is part of WFG’s DNA. It’s one of our core values and an integral part of our culture”

“There are so many people across North America who have little to no life insurance protection, don’t have a plan for retirement or don’t have a quality financial education. WFG’s goal during this campaign — and every day— is to reach out to people, particularly middle-income families, who traditionally are not offered financial services. We help them get on a path to realizing their dreams, whatever they may be,” said Joe DiPaola, President& CEO of World Financial Group.

The campaign involved all of WFG’s independent associates across the United States and Canada. Each associate was asked at the launch of the campaign to assist as many families as possible, with targets set at 10, 20 and a high benchmark of 30 families in 100 days. Those associates who were able to help 25 or more families will have their names listed in a two-page ad that will run in Forbes and Canadian Business magazines.

“We knew the goal of helping 1,000 families each day for 100 days was extraordinarily ambitious,” said Paul Mineck, Chief Marketing Officer of World Financial Group. “At the end of the campaign, we had helped 84,171 families. We consider the campaign a great success as it spurred major growth for WFG and its associates, and it is a number that WFG believes very few companies in the industry could reach in such a short time frame.”

“Helping people is part of WFG’s DNA. It’s one of our core values and an integral part of our culture,” DiPaola said. “We are so proud of all that WFG’s independent associates accomplished during the last 100 days. Their commitment and dedication to improving the lives of so many people, ensuring these families have a better tomorrow by helping them build a stronger financial foundation, is inspiring. Not only did it help grow our associates’ businesses and our company as a whole, the campaign created significant momentum for our associates, who can use it to help thousands more families realize their financial goals.”

The Helping 100,000 Families in 100 Days campaign was a major World Financial Group (WFG) initiative, and the efforts of so WFG’s independent associates played a key role in its success. The momentum created by this campaign was great, remaining sustained throughout the campaign and beyond. It was exciting to see WFG and its associates so united behind a common cause: helping families.

The original goal of helping 1,000 families a day for 100 sustained days was extraordinary ambitious and, by the end of the 100-day campaign, WFG associates had helped 84,171 families.
